Why do we use emoticons? Why are there so many different kinds of an emoticons? There are answers. For the first question, the answer is simple; to show an emotion.  If you were being sarcastic and someone is actually taking them seriously, things could get rough. We also use emoticons  to show your other emotions like happy, mad and sad.

The second  question is answered very very easily.  There are different kinds of emoticons because  you have other things to tell.  For example, if someone did not know how to read, they could put the party emoticon.  That is why emoticons are important!
