I Survived ...
The State Test
By Morgan
"Class
it's time!" said Mrs. Coswell.
"No," groaned everyone.
Mrs.
Coswell's English class was about to take the State Test.
"This
is the hardest test of the year so I hope you studied for this large event,"
said Mrs. Coswell handing out the tests.
"Sarah," said Andrew. "Did you
study?"
"Well of course I studied. Why? Did you
study?" said Sarah.
"Nah," replied Andrew.
"Quiet!"
said Mrs.Coswell, "people are starting the test."
Mrs. Coswell handed the test to Andrew and
Sarah.
"WOW!,"
said Andrew taking a sneak peak at Sarah's paper.
Sarah was already on the third question!
"Stop peaking!," said Sarah.
"Yeeesh," replied Andrew.
Andrew started on the first question: What is the capital of New York? "Ok, starting off easy, it's Utica,"
said Andrew. One
hour later. "
I am going to die," said Andrew.
"Two
more minutes class," said Mrs. Coswell.
"What! I'm only on question 3!"
Andrew said to himself. Andrew looked at
Sarah. She must have been done a half
hour ago. "Okay let's reread question 3," Andrew said in his head. What year did New York become a
state? "Um,
2064," said Andrew kind of loud. Everybody stared at Andrew with a weird
face. Even the class nerd Randy. "What?" said Andrew. "Everyone
knows that the year New York became a state was 2064.
"2064 hasn't even come yet," said
Randy.
"No giving answers," said Mrs.
Coswell. "Andrew may I speak with you in the hall?"
"Um … sure," said Andrew.
They walked into the hall. "Andrew, your
mom emailed me this morning and said that you didn't study at all this
weekend," said Mrs. Coswell.
"I totally studied," said Andrew.
"Don't
lie," said Mrs.Coswell.
"Okay fine. Sarah invited me over to
study on Friday night. I was going to
study with her but then I got a phone call from Colin to have a double
sleepover at his house. I forgot about
studying," said Andrew.
"You could have studied on Sunday,"
replied Mrs.Coswell.
"I
was, but then I went to the arcade with Colin," said Andrew.
"I'll tell you what, I won't give you any
homework tonight BUT take your homework time to study. Is that a deal?"
said Mrs. Coswell.
"It's a deal," said Andrew.
"Great!"
replied Mrs.Coswell.
The
next day Andrew came in looking better than ever. A teacher took Andrew to a
special room in the middle of the school. "Take your time," said the
teacher in a mysterious voice.
"Umm... okay," replied Andrew.
The teacher left the room. In about 30 minutes
Andrew finished. The room was tiny. It had no windows. After an hour Andrew got
worried. The teacher hadn't come back and Andrew didn't hear any footsteps in
the hall. There were cabinets in the back of the room. Andrew was curious so he
looked inside the cabinets. He read the
words on a piece of paper inside the cabinet.
"Evil
plans to take over the world!" Andrew read out-loud in a worried voice.
"I have to save everyone!" said Andrew.
Andrew
tried to open the door. It was locked! Since there were no windows, there was
no way to get out!
"I
have to get out," said Andrew.
He
looked up on the ceiling. "A latch door!" He said in an excited
voice. He climbed onto the counter and up the cabinets. He grabbed and opened
the latch door. He expected it to be a crawl space but it was actually a big
room! Andrew walked around. At the back of the room there was a staircase. Andrew was scared but he climbed up the
steps. One by one he climbed and he
heard creaking sounds. Just the steps... Just the steps... Andrew kept thinking
in his head.
He
reached the top of the steps. It was a dark room full of old boxes. The only light was from a tiny window. The
wall said School Attic. Also, on the
wall it said something in highlighted words: Beware your in for a scare. If you don't turn back
something bad will happen.
"Oh
man, I better turn back," said Andrew.
"To
late, to late, to late," said a familiar voice.
"Sarah?"
said Andrew. "Are you there?"
Then
all of the sudden people darted up the stairs. Mrs. Coswell, Andrew's parents
and a lot more. But they looked different... ZOMBIES!
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh," screamed
Andrew... waking up in his bed. "Just a dream," said Andrew.
"What
happened?" said Andrew's mom. "Did you have a bad dream?"
"Yeah," replied Andrew. "By the
way, you have the State Test today," said Andrew's mom.
Da Da Da!
The End... for
now!
